Migration Guide

Import your existing time tracking data into ClockEye.

Overview

ClockEye makes it easy to migrate from other time tracking tools. We support direct imports from popular platforms and generic CSV imports for other tools.

What Gets Imported

  • Time entries with dates and durations
  • Projects and clients
  • Tags and categories
  • Descriptions and notes
  • Billable status

Not Imported

  • Screenshots (platform-specific)
  • Activity data
  • User preferences
  • Integrations
  • Reports/dashboards

Migrate from Toggl Track

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. 1Export your data from Toggl: Go to Reports → Detailed → Export as CSV
  2. 2In ClockEye, go to Settings → Import Data
  3. 3Select "Toggl" as the source
  4. 4Upload your CSV file
  5. 5Map fields (projects, clients, tags)
  6. 6Review the import preview
  7. 7Click "Import" to complete

Important Notes

  • Projects and clients will be created automatically
  • Time entries preserve original timestamps
  • Tags are converted to ClockEye tags
  • User mapping can be configured during import

Migrate from Harvest

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. 1In Harvest, go to Reports → Time → Export
  2. 2Select date range and export as CSV
  3. 3In ClockEye, go to Settings → Import Data
  4. 4Select "Harvest" as the source
  5. 5Upload your CSV file
  6. 6Map clients and projects
  7. 7Review and complete the import

Important Notes

  • Billable status is preserved
  • Hourly rates can be imported (Enterprise only)
  • Notes and descriptions are maintained
  • Client-project hierarchy is preserved

Migrate from Clockify

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. 1In Clockify, go to Reports → Detailed Report
  2. 2Click Export → CSV
  3. 3In ClockEye, go to Settings → Import Data
  4. 4Select "Clockify" as the source
  5. 5Upload your exported CSV
  6. 6Configure field mappings
  7. 7Complete the import process

Important Notes

  • Workspace structure is mapped to ClockEye organization
  • Project colors are not imported
  • Task hierarchy is flattened to tags
  • Team members need to be invited separately

Migrate from Manual/CSV Import

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. 1Prepare your CSV file with required columns
  2. 2Required: date, duration (or start/end time), description
  3. 3Optional: project, user email, tags, billable
  4. 4In ClockEye, go to Settings → Import Data
  5. 5Select "CSV" as the source
  6. 6Upload and map columns
  7. 7Review and import

Important Notes

  • Duration format: HH:MM:SS or decimal hours
  • Date format: YYYY-MM-DD
  • Time format: HH:MM (24-hour)
  • Use semicolons to separate multiple tags

For manual CSV imports, use the following format:

Column Definitions

dateRequired. Format: YYYY-MM-DD
durationRequired if no start/end time. Decimal hours or HH:MM:SS
projectOptional. Creates project if not exists
tagsOptional. Semicolon-separated list
billableOptional. true/false or 1/0

After Migration

Once your data is imported, complete these steps:

  1. 1.Verify imported data in Reports
  2. 2.Invite team members and assign to projects
  3. 3.Configure tracking settings
  4. 4.Install desktop app on team devices
  5. 5.Set up integrations with your tools
